This course is very much focused on the collection and preservation of evidence in the crime scene for the purposes of an investigation and the context in which said data may prove valuable and learn what type of permission is needed to obtain electronic evidence.

Student will learn proper imaging and various imaging techniques and learn how evidence can be obtained from some of the latest technologies and learn what needs to be included in a proper forensic report that can be used by the court.

Introduction to computer forensics using not only lecture, but hands-on labs that utilize free software and demonstration for some commercial tools that available in the market. It will also utilize the basic understanding of Windows operating systems. This course delves into important topics and need-to-know information when dealing with digital forensic cases.

Student will learn to conduct a digital forensics investigation. Learn about hash sets, keyword searching, Android, timelines, and more. Includes hands-on labs.

This course is designed to allow the student to not only learn but have hands-on experience in examining mobile devices with free tools. This is an extension of the Introduction to Computer Forensics course. Students will get an understanding of iOS and Android devices. This course is also designed for students to understand the architecture, file system, and appropriate tools for analysis.
Prerequisite: Digital Forensic and Cybercrime Fundamentals
